Single Mom Monday: Being a Mompreneur; Qualities of a Child Entrepreneur

Teaching a child to be independent or being an entrepreneur takes a lot of skill. All children are not building to be an entrepreneur but to just being self-dependent is instilled in everyone. Sometimes as parents we need to redirect that attention into the child. When you see something special in that child all you want to do is help them get to whatever your child want to accomplish in life. As a mother I want to see my son grow and be a successful, sub stand man. Successful don’t always means being wealthy but independent.

A lot of African-American children have all said that they want to own a business when they get older. But sometimes the children don’t have those resources like before. Just like when your child is a baby doctors and teachers always say that a parent is always that child’s first teacher. So getting your child ready for the business world there are some skills you can teach your child at home.
First you have to see that business drive in your child so once you believe in your child’s dreams then they will believe in themselves. Sometimes it’s just good to know that mom believes in me makes that child feel 10 times better and 10 times bigger than what they are. By your child seeing you following your passions and they will follow theirs. For me I am so focused on finishing school and becoming a personality my son is more focused on being an avatar (he’s only 5) but it’s a good start for him because he knows what he wants. But teaching your child to always do what you love because it never is too little. People looking in on my situation feels like, why are you doing this stuff and I always tell them it might be free but I’m doing what I love and it will pay off in the end. I just want my son to understand that what mom does how big or little it is; it’s never too little and it will pay off in the end. Also, helping out others in a little way helps someone else in a big way.

There are a lot of kid entrepreneurs out their like before it all start from a dream. Leanna Archer is one biggest entrepreneur who started her own hair care line at the age of 8. Everybody knows McDonald’s, well there was a kid by the name of Luke Underwood who is the face behind those kid toys children love so much and there are more and more children out there just doing their thing.

5 Parenting Tip to Help Foster Entrepreneur Qualities in Your Child
• Model effective problem solving: seat down with your child and find the problem and do a pros and cons to resolve the problem
• Help kids learn from failure: practice a skill they could do next when they do something a hard way teach they an easier way of doing it or teach them a way they could afford issues in the further
• Let kids make decisions: things like picking out their clothes and the foods they eat
• Teach constructive ways to challenge the status quo: asking them “what do they think needs to be changed and why? What do they propose instead?
